Was disappointing I stayed back in February only two months earlier and the hotel was great. This visit wasn't it was a trip with my mum and the toliet wouldn't flush and flooded on a different time they didn't even clean that up properly just moped up the dirty water. Room wasn't clean. Dusty and pink soap scrum in shower. Didn't vacuum once on our 8 day stay.

Bare Minimum; No Frills!

Room had bare minimum. Booked a King for $751 & got a small Queen. It had no seating, no washcloths, no bathroom amenities. TV had limited channels. Room should have costs much less.

Great location

The Stanford is clean and convenient to the 34 - Herald Square Subway station, which took us everywhere we wanted to go. Located in Koreatown, there was an abundance of great restaurants, bakeries, tea shop, etc, as well as lots of shops in walking distance. The room was small but clean, and since we just needed a bed and shower, that was fine. I was surprised how quiet the room was considering we were on a busy street. Our room had an issue with hot water where we needed to run the sink and the shower to get hot water, which was a bit inconvenient and seemingly wasteful of water. For as old as the building probably is, it's in excellent repair for the most part. Our bathroom did have a vague sewer smell that would appear but we kept the door closed as we couldn't pinpoint the origin. There are hand towels and body towels but no washcloths. We travel with our own bath puffs, so that wasn't a big deal. The wifi would cut out and the staff wouldn't be aware of the issue or have a solution/or when it would be fixed, but, technology can be fickle. The free breakfast was good to get your day started to walk to a restaurant for breakfast - bagels, toast w/condiments, yogurt, bananas, apples, but also salad, hot Vienna sausages and mashed potatoes? Coffee was from a Keurig and there was also tea available. Again, K cups are not very green, but they do allow for variety for guests. I would stay here again.

Stayed 3 nights in April 2025 for a concert at Madison Square Garden and some other events. The location is excellent, close to major sights. Friendly staff, especially the doorman who helped with my bags (both arrival & departure). Room was tiny but efficient. Unlimited tea and coffee, plus the hotel gives 10% off coupons for nearby restaurants. Downsides: They don't offer early check-in. Luckily I found somewhere nearby to relax until my room was ready! My heater didn’t work & room was freezing (they gave me a space heater), the bathtub didn’t drain well so water pooled, and elevator was extremely slow (thankfully I was on a lower floor, so took the stairs). They didn't allow me to take my breakfast to my room which I found odd. Never experienced that at any hotel. I prefer to always eat in the privacy of my room. Overall, good value for the location, but I'll probably try out somewhere else next time.

The Stanford is an old hotel conveniently located near Penn Station / MSG. Most importantly, the rooms were clean and staff were friendly and attentive. Rooms are quite small but for short stays, sufficient for 1 or 2 guests.

Great location for walking and public transport

Great location for access to all parts of the city by foot and public transport! There was some confusion at check-in and also with luggage storage, followed by more confusion around wi-fi code. However, I attribute all of this to one employee. Perhaps she was new or not in the right job. All others were very efficient. I miss the early evening cocktail bar option.

This property was the most convenient hotel ive ever stayed at (a direct route from the hotel to LaGuardia, and still simple to get to Broadway). The room was basic, the beds were soft but not too soft. The bathroom was big. The staff was pretty and courteous
