The short overnight permanence was ruined by the fact that the stuff made a pair of my sunglasses "disappear". I checked out and after a couple hours could not find them anymore, I had a picture of the sunglasses right next to my packed bags in the room, so I knew I left them there. When I called them to ask them if I could just stop there to pick them up they stalled and made me call back around 10 times until only the following day a very rude woman finally picked up and said that there was no glasses found. Having the picture of them in the room right before checking out I explained to her that it was not possible, and that not finding them would mean someone from the staff took them. Her reply "it is just what it is". So guys, in this hotel is customary to steal from clients, just a horrible experience...

Lesson learned

The front desk refuses to assist anyone via phone. They make you walk down there for any needs. They pick up and slam the phone when you call. Couldn't sleep because the room was so hot, and the smoke detectors are constantly beeping low battery. Only one working elevator, and the door only opens halfway.

The rooms were not soundproof and elevators are very small. Towels were clean but rough. My room was nice and simple but i had trouble maintaining the air conditioning which was loud. Nicely decorated and sufficient for my needs. I didnt understand the 150 depositand you only get half back

My 8 year old daughter and I stayed at the Aura this past week, and we both absolutely loved it! The hotel is small and has that boutique feel that I love (although we stayed in one of the executive rooms and it was rather large for NYC). The room was very clean and decorated tastefully (I loved the fact that it had laminate wood floors rather than carpet too). The location can’t be beat either.. it is literally steps from Times Square, but just far enough that it was still quiet! The staff were also wonderful! They were so friendly and helpful! We will definitely stay here again when we return to NYC!

Check-in and check-out was a very easy experience, even though we arrived very late the first night due to flight delays. The hotel staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly. Our room was spotless, nicely appointed and very comfortable. The Aura is a great choice for staying in Times Square!

The Bathroom was given only a moderate clean. The Superior room is a closet. Reception staff tho not unfriendly, seemed not too 'smiley'. Location is the only real high end asset the property has, which is really good.

The hotel staff were very friendly. However, the hotel elevators were a constant problem as they were either out of service or just too slow. We waited for almost 10 minutes for the smallest elevator I've ever seen..Also, the shower curtain had mold on it and the shower head was clogged..we were only staying for two nights, so we didn't make an issue of it. .
