This is the most magical place you can stay at. I enjoyed my spacious room, private courtyard and access to the pool and gardens. You are minutes away from all the French Quarter shops and restaurants. The hotel provides bottles of water, coffee, clementines and cookies as part of your stay.
Beautiful historic property run by lovely people (and cats). There is 24 hour valet and always someone at the front desk. We were gifted with a free room upgrade upon arrival (a nearly $200 difference) that included a balcony that overlooked the hotel pool and courtyard which was absolutely stunning. Looking out at sunrise over the rooftops in the midst of trees, greenery, and the sound of the flowing fountain is an experience i’ve yet to have elsewhere and won’t forget. It was very clean as well and there are free snacks, coffee, water, and tea in the common area. The cats are incredibly friendly and are even allowed in the rooms; one ventured up to our room and meowed through the door until he was let in and given love and attention (which we offered graciously of course:). I could go on and on…it was lovely.
This is an absolute gorgeous historical landmark, one of hundreds in the French Quarters. The check in process was so simple and so personable. My understanding is each room on property has its own unique flavor and flair and look. Some rooms with balconies overlooking Toulouse Street with tables and chairs to sit during the days or evenings and take it all in. If you’re looking for something reasonably prices and centrally located, this is definitely the spot for you. Our room was a queen with balcony. The room was so spacious and all we’ve talked about since we got home two days ago was just how comfortable the mattress/bed felt and slept. We were just so incredibly comfortable and slept better than I have in many years!!! I’d be willing to return just to sleep all weekend on Room 301’s mattresses. I just can’t rave enough about our lovely time, although much too short. We plan to return very soon!! Next time we’ll check out that in ground swimming pool we saw as we got onto the elevator. Speaking of the elevator, my husband is 6’0” tall and weighs approximately 225 lbs. Seeing him carrying our bags and getting on and off the elevator was comical each time. The elevator is quite small and room for two max I’d say. But there are stairs easily accessible directly in front of elevators and easier to access and climb than what you’d see in a traditional hotel/motel location. We absolutely adored this location and can’t wait to visit again soon!!’
We were in town for medical procedures and I can’t say enough good things about the customer service we received including accommodating us with the best room. Ian was the best welcoming host ever. It’s a cool NOLA locally owned hotel that gives you 5 star service.
Have stayed here before. Such a unique and authentic representation of New Orleans. To be such a long-standing facility, they do a wonderful job at maintenance. Would always consider this an option when going to New Orleans.
This was the perfect place for my husband and I to spend our 20th anniversary! It was safe, close to everything, and was an authentic experience. Beautiful and historic.
A stay at the Olivier House gives you everything you come to New Orleans to experience. History, charm, hospitality and the perfect location in the middle of everything. While it’s a great base for exploring the city, it’s also quite nice if you don’t want to go anywhere—just enjoy the ambiance of a secluded courtyard or the sumptuous parlor. We can’t wait to come back!
