We had a room with a large balcony on Bourbon St. It is a bit noisy until about about 3 AM, but the heavy duty room curtains actually helped to block some of the noise and lights out. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean. There was a slight mix up with our reservation when we checked in. Otherwise, our stay was very nice. We had a few friends come over and sit out on the balcony and people watch. The jazz club downstairs was playing great music. Very fun!

The hotel was perfectly located in the heart of Bourbon Street area, easy walking distance to everything (we valeted our car upon arrival & never moved it until leaving). The rooms are modest, but nice for a renovated building of this era. The lobby, coffee shop and bar are fabulous. The staff were great. The Christmas decor was amazing. I'd happily recommend the Royal Sonesta!

Not completely up to my expectations. Beautiful hotel! Didn’t service my room as I would have liked. Service more like a 3 star hotel. I’ve stayed at nicer properties in New Orleans for much less.

Front desk never answered phone, room not cleaned until I asked at front desk at 4:30pm. They ran out of K-cups for room, hvac system was inconsistent. Hotel looks a bit tired.

This was a good place to stay. Even though Bourbon street was right outside it was quiet in our room. Very convenient to walk right outside of the door and shop, eat or party. Only thing we didn’t like was the promises of a free gift for our stay and a few other small promises that they did not actually give us.

Great view of Bourbon St. on our balcony. Excellent staff including Caleb the doorman who is a true professional of the likes of which few hotels still retain these days. I will be glad to come back and have the same room and balcony.
Main hallway during Christmas season. Very proper hotel and staff.
