Modern hotel with spacious rooms. Location is key if you are a tourist. The local tourist map has two walking routes and both are within 5 minutes of the hotel. There is a U station 100 metres in one direction and an S station 100 metres the other way. We put the car in the parking and did not take it out until we left. Parking not cheap – over €30 per night. We did not use the hotel restaurant as there are so many to choose from a short walk away. Minor niggle: it has the usual notice about saving water but they have installed sinks with a plug that does not close, so you have to leave the water running while shaving!

Loved the location. Near the river and had plenty of restaurants nearby. Not a fan of self check in. Like to be greeted by a human being. Stayed for 2 nights and was very good value for money. Would be happy to revisit in the future

We stayed here for 2 nights during a short trip to Hamburg from California to attend a performance at the Elbphilharmonie. For a brief visit built around a concert, the location worked especially well. The neighborhood felt pleasant and walkable, and getting around the city was straightforward. We had rented a car for a day trip outside Hamburg and had no trouble finding nearby street parking for the evening before returning it the next morning. The hotel has a distinctive sense of style and personality. Its musical theme leans more contemporary than classical, though the details gave the space character and made it memorable in its own way. Our room was clean, quiet, and thoughtfully designed, which made for a comfortable stay. One detail we appreciated was the option to decline housekeeping in exchange for complimentary drinks at the bar. We stopped in briefly before the symphony on our first evening and again before heading to the train station at the end of our stay. The espresso martinis were consistently well made and a nice touch. There are a few practical areas where improvements would make a noticeable difference. The room felt warmer than expected, and the air conditioning did not cool particularly well, so we ended up opening the window. We were also surprised that an iron and ironing board were not readily available, particularly for guests attending concerts or other formal events. After a bumpy start at another hotel that was not wheelchair accessible, we checked in at the Hamburg Marriott Hotel. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They set us up with a nice and quiet room and provided parking right out front to ensure we could access our vehicle when we needed it. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but had drinks at the piano bar. It was very relaxing and the drinks were delicious. I highly recommend a stay at this location. It is walking (or wheelchair) distance to all the main things you want to see in the Hamburg city center. I will definitely book here first when we go back.
