Worked for a nice overnight stay -last minute

Due to incoming tropical storm our group of 8 was evacuated early from our catamaran in Abaco. We made it to Nassau and had to spend the night. The British Colonial had four rooms available for our group and we were pleased (it was off-season). The hotel is beautiful but if you don’t have an ocean view you look at a roof or McDonalds. The guest reception staff were excellent. The rain shower feature in the room was great. The bed was a little too soft. The pool looked lovely but pool bar service was just ok. No piña coladas at any bar on the property. Hotel location was great for a self-guided walking tour of downtown (found online). The London restaurant downtown was delicious for dinner and easy to walk to from the hotel. Not many options for breakfast outside of hotel. Hotel restaurant worked for breakfast. Taxi is easy to get to/from hotel/airport.

The view of the water was wonderful especially as it could be seen while laying in my bed. Internet connection never failed. The pool and beach areas are very well kept and the outside furniture well maintained and comfortable. The large pump of sunscreen outside is also a very nice perk for those that may have forgotten theirs at home. The outdoor music was just the right volume- soft and close but not overbearing or inappropriate. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

Beautiful property, the staff could use some work at the front desk. Any concerns were addressed with everything else going wrong at the resort. Servers at the restaurant were slow even when the venue was totally empty.

The property is beautifully maintained. I love this place. However, I had problems with my bill. I was charged again after i prepaid via expedia. The staff are warm and welcoming. My only other issue is parking and paying a resort fee when the only amenities are a pool and gym. I didn't feel a resort fee was necessary

Beautiful Hotel

I have not had any issues with my stay here at all. It was a beautiful hotel. I also think the price was reasonable. The customer service was good. They gave us more towels when we asked. The hotel is right on the beach and the water is gorgeous! (See pics) The only thing I wish was that the restaurant served Bahamian food too, instead of the regular food I can get in America. My husband and I decided that if we came back to Nassau, and needed a hotel, we could bring the whole family to this hotel.

Nice place in downtown Nassau

I stayed at the British Colonial on a recent business trip and I have nothing but good things to say about the property. It’s well located and the rooms are comfortable. The gym is decent too. Food is a little on the pricey side, but this being The Bahamas, that’s to be expected.

Property is nice and clean but the rooms are on the small side. The food takes too long. 45 mins for quesadillas is unacceptable so don't order hungry. Otherwise everything else was great.
