We enjoyed the property and amenities,especially being in the down town area. We was disappointed with housekeeping. Our room wasn't clean daily and several days towels weren't replenish as advertised.

Other than the "resort fees" and taxes that we were unaware of everything was perfect. Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Would definitely stay there again!

British Colonial Here is our honest review of our stay at the British Colonial Hotel, and Downtown Nassau; The Hotel itself is very nice, having been recently renovated in 2022. The lobby is gorgeous, as are the restaurant and bar. Very tasteful and classy. The grounds and pool areas are immaculate and lovely. 1 main pool and a secondary shallow pool for kids, (although we didn’t see many kids there during our week there), presumably due to the cost. We had no problem finding lounge chairs, or a good spot by the pool. The private beach area is spectacular…gorgeous turquoise and super-clear water. Can’t say I’ve ever seen a nicer beach with such powdery sand. Great views of the port and cruise ship terminal too. Location is an easy 10-minute walk to downtown. Although this may seem to be a good thing, the whole downtown core becomes a ghost town after 5pm. According to the locals, this is because the cruise ships re-embark around that time. We struggled to find any decent sit-down restaurants for dinner every night…very frustrating! You must take a taxi to find a nice place to eat. Even Senor Frog’s was closed after 5. Our room was a decent size, but only had one chair, and no couch. We had opted for the king ocean view, and got a partial ocean view, but a great view of the cruise terminal, so we could see the comings and goings of some cool huge ships. The room had some cleanliness issues, mostly that the shower had some mold. Otherwise, it was okay. Staff are super-friendly

Great stay

Had a comfortable stay. Great location. Friendly staff but service is island slow. Cleanliness of the bathroom tile can be improved and we had to request additional toilet paper. Restaurants and drinks on premises were good. Beach and pools are excellent with towel service.

The beach area and outdoor areas were excellent, and that is why we chose this property. We were able to walk to any of the places we wanted to see. Staff was very friendly.

Hotel is near downtown Nassau. Despite having an ocean view, the beachfront is directly facing a construction site (a future waterpark), so it's noisy even at night. Hotel has terrible noise insulation and I could hear people staying next door speaking loud and clear. Hotel restaurants are low quality with very high price ($85 for a piece of fish filet that's overcooked). The waiter took the wrong order, food didn't arrive until 40 mins later. We flagged down the manager, who apologized, but didn't do anything to fix the bill so we were charged on the dish we didn't order. Aside from that, food quality at the pool bar was equally bad. Overall, it was an extremely disappointed experience.

Best time at the British Colonial Nassau

Amazing stay at the British Colonial Nassau! Private beach and pools were incredible, never crowded. All the food from the various restaurants were great and all of the hotel staff was helpful, friendly and accommodating. And the hotel is right in downtown so you’re close to everything! I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

My wife and I had a WONDERFUL week-long stay at the British Colonial. Our room was large and comfy, with a great bathroom and an amazing view of the ocean. We enjoyed watching the cruise ships depart in the late afternoon each day. The multiple pools (and hot tub) were lovely and not very crowded, and the private beach gave us the opportunity for a dip in the ocean. There were multiple places to eat on the property, which was extremely convenient. Our one (extremely minor) complaint: the online menu for the main restaurant (the Mahogany Room) was completely different from the actual menu in the dining room. We went in anticipating the “traditional Italian cuisine” that was advertised on the British Colonial website, only to find a completely different set of options. Still, the food was excellent. We will definitely come back here!

Beautiful historic hotel

Very nice and clean. Recent beautiful remodel. Only bummer was that it was off-season so the restaurants weren't open every day.
