The room is very dark. No night in the entrance hallway. If you check in at night time , bring your torch with you for lamination. There is only 1 light in the bathroom and 2 ceiling lights in the room. They still use key to open and lock door. Breakfast is a joke. Only coffee , ice waterand orange juice. 2 kinds of pastries. Miso soup. Curry and rice. That’s all.
The previous reviews I read were better than what I saw when I got there. The property seemed scary with old fashion key and large fob, room was darker than photos, breakfast was lukewarm, on paper plates and cups. Friendly staff, but I was glad it was only one night.
The main thing to remember about this hotel is that it's old. You can see the wear and tear and stains over years of service e.g. things being taped together or dents in the bathtub. I hope one day they do a whole renovation or deep clean. It serves its purpose to have a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in. The good things is that it's right next to Nagano train station and a basic breakfast of bread, curry, coffee and juices is provided.
friendly staff, quiet place to sleep, clean room and bath room

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Room comfort
Moderate hotel, close to station, cold bathroom
My bathroom position was on the window side and it was very very cold and so was the hallway (my visit was in February). Apart from this, it is acceptable and the complimentary breakfast was nice especially various types of bread. Also, they provide choices of pillow downstairs for individual preference.

Close to JR station
We arrived from Nagoya late and it was great that our hotel was only a few minutes away from the station. The hotel is small but the staff were lovely. Breakfast was included - curry, juices and croissants.
The hotel has nothing good except close to the train station. Facility is quite old and the people are not as friendly as those you normally meet in Japan.
I should had chose the nearby one which is just cost little more.
