Had an excellent stay at Ilala Crest Lodge. Staff were incredibly friendly. I had a large well appointed room/ flat with sitting area and separate bedroom. A stay at Grand Palace Hotel places you in the heart of Mzuzu, a 2-minute drive from Museum and 5 minutes from Mzuzu Stadium.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bathroom however requires some maintenance as there is mold around the bath and tiles. Also the shower attachments are loose (Room 207). Note that for me the bed was too soft.

When you stay at Rayoni Guesthouse B&B in Mzuzu, you'll be connected to the convention center, within a 5-minute drive of Museum and Mzuzu University.
It’s a bit off the road, but nice and clean. A simple place with “no frills “. We ate well and rested well also. Be sure and ask for directions, Google maps takes you to the wrong place!
