It's situated 300 kilometres north of Canberra, the capital city of Australia.

There are a few places in town to gather and enjoy yourself, including the Lowe's Mudgee Vineyards. The Farmer's Daughter and the Huntington Estate are some more great places to let your worries slip away.

Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve, 35 kilometres away, is the place you'll want to go if you're looking for some fresh air and a peaceful afternoon. It's definitely worth the journey.

When the sun is shining and the sky is blue, Flirtation Hill Lookout is a terrific place for a picnic lunch and some exercise.

Can't live without sports? Then you should look into the event schedule at West End Sporting Complex, located 3 kilometres to the north in Mid-western Regional Council.

The Broombee Organic Wines and the Logan's Wines are not far from the centre of Apple Tree Flat, 15 kilometres to the southeast. Eager for more? Gulgong, 30 kilometres to the north of Mudgee, is home to the Gulgong Pionerrs Museum and the Henry Lawson Centre.

Roughly 85 kilometres to the southwest, Bletchington is a destination with lots to offer. The Duntryleague Country Club, the Orange Civic Theatre and Orange Visitor Information Centre are all quite close.
