Book Mqatsheni hotels

We had a great stay at Moorcroft for two nights. Couple of tips: 1) Exit at Howick off N3 as the roads are paved, 2) Bring rain gear as it rained quite a bit when we were there, 3) Aim to arrive before sunset as it gets quite dark on the roads, 4) The kitchen closes at 8:30 p.m. and there aren’t too many options nearby. The check-in process was fast and we were shown to our room with a very welcoming ambiance, a large bathroom, and a small outdoor terrace. WiFi was strong. The bathroom could use a bit of modernization by having a larger sink and more shelves. Dinner at the restaurant was great, and we truly enjoyed the curry and spring rolls. However, the steak we had on the first night was overcooked (medium rare became more medium). The service overall was fine, but the trainer definitely needed more training (a teacup was refilled with just hot water - where the tea bag was removed). The surroundings were very peaceful and idyllic. The turn-down service was a nice touch. The spa closes at 5 p.m., which was slightly disappointing since that’s when guests would enjoy the most from returning the day trip.

We all loved the cabin ...bed comfort was fine and internet was okay. The amazing views and walks I really enjoyed. Everyone was friendly and our cabin was cleaned up each day thanks to the staff. I wouldnt hesitate to book again. Thanks for the lovely week at Elands Valley Resort.

Superb location, 2 min walk from border post. Friendly staff, great meals and the cosiest rondawels each with their own coal stove.

This place is a small piece of heaven! Great service from all staff right from the very beginning. Before arrival - Comms were timely and accurate and helpful. The meals provided were great (especially the Oxtail stew! 😋) and delivered to your individual lodge. The situation of the lodge is beautiful - wherever you look the scenery transfixes you. Ideally placed for a trip over the Sani Pass and the ability to get close to nature with the resident game herds is second to none. Simply a superb place.
