It served as it was intended to.

The location is very good in terms of public transport is concern. Parking spot and parking fees are terrible so, I would not recommend this if you have a car. The room was too old, uneven floor, the door in the washroom doesn't close properly. The breakfast was just fine, not many options available, if you are a heavy breakfast eater, it is not for you. There's one thing I was furious about, the "do not clean room sign". I put up the sign at our door before we went outside for we don't want someone to enter our room to clean it for we had our things set up inside our room, but when we came back, our room was fixed, someone just entered our room and cleaned and replenish stuff. I mean it was nice, but what's the point of putting up the no clean up sign if they just ignored it. And the clothes that I put on top of the bed was not there anymore, I found it on the floor. I just hope they put it back where they found it after fixing the bed. But overall, it served it purpose which is to have a room to sleep on at night.

Room was nice and quiet for such a busy part of the city. Breakfast buffet is average at best. In room coffee machine is more of a expresso pod machine with little cups. Limited on site parking, but there is a decent paid lot just up the street.

Stairs a Challenge

I have always liked this hotel. It has a certain faded charm. The stairs to enter and get to the room are always a challenge with luggage but on past stays there was always a doorman looking out for new arrivals who would take my luggage up the steep entrance stairs. Not this time. A young man on the street who saw me struggling came to my aide as I tried to get to the entrance. I got the feeling there was less staff than on previous visits, though when I asked my bags were delivered to my room after 5-10 minutes.

Chateau Versailles is a small, quiet, European-style (analog) hotel on the western edge of Montreal's downtown. The staff are friendly and helpful and it's easy to feel right at home. My intended one night stay quickly turned to three. I'm only sorry that I found out about the sauna just as I was checking out!

It’s pretty adorable, near everything you need, clean, quiet, breakfast is good (not a lot of options but really really good). Overall it was a great experience and I would probably return. I just had one little problem with the bed… it squeaks A LOT 😅 didn’t really impacted my trip but it was not fun. But overall great!
