Great location, good views. Hap a problem lighting the fireplace, front desk came up and lit it, but it quickly went off again, so I just left it off

This is the hotel you can stay at if you want to stay downtown Carmel at a price you cannot find any where else. The hotel is ideally located. It is not a five stare hotel it is a solid three star. Clean an freindly and best price in carmel

Staff was very friendly, front desk and housekeeper were very helpful. Awesome location- walking distance to everything… 0.8 mile walk /15 min to the beach… Reasonable price. Just would like a continental breakfast or happy hour like years ago… overall, excellent place to stay quaint and comfortable!

The location is central to so many places we wanted to go. The room itself was spacious and we enjoyed the fireplace immensely! There was a very comfortable King bed and a table and chairs, which we used to relax in after a day of exploring the area. The chairs, however, weren't comfortable for sitting and relaxing to watch TV. The desk chair was more comfortable and my husband used that most of the time. The stairs up to our room were a challenge, so the next time, we'll opt for a down-stairs room, if there is one.

We stayed 4 nights and they were redoing the roof. They never told us in advance. It was so loud from 830am to 4pm everyday we were there. Very frustrating that they didn’t have the decency to inform us so we could have made different arrangements. We did finally speak to the owner before check out and he I offered a free night if we come back, but only through a verbal agreement. We were not given a physical credit. We will not be staying here again.
