Your lobby represenatives. We saw 2 roaches in the room and problems with the door lock several times had. But they were quick in resolving the problems and asked if we wanted a room change. Most of the staff were great. But the drivers can be overbering and unappreciative.

I want to start by saying that the most important thing for me is that I always felt safe during my stay. The resort was very clean, and the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which I truly appreciated. That said, the biggest disappointment was the dining experience. Making reservations for the specialty restaurants felt nearly impossible. We arrived late our first night due to weather issues and were forced to eat at the buffet, and unfortunately, no one was willing or able to help us secure a reservation for any of the restaurants afterward. I don’t feel like guests should have to fight to get a reservation during their stay. It was especially frustrating that the Asian restaurant is only open on Saturdays for about 2.5 hours, and most of the specialty restaurants are only open 2–3 days a week. Because of this, I wouldn’t recommend booking this resort with the expectation that you’ll get to experience the specialty dining—chances are very slim. Would I return? Not particularly to this resort. While the cold weather obviously isn’t the hotel’s fault, there was little to no entertainment offered to keep guests engaged due to the weather. There was only one party on Friday night, and that was it. If you’re considering a trip to Jamaica, I’d strongly recommend checking the weather in advance. If food and dining options aren’t a priority for you, then this resort may still be a good fit. Otherwise, manage expectations accordingly.

Apparently that wasnt enough, i thought that it was strange when housekeeping was knocking on my door at 9:45 pm .. neither my daughter or myself responded. Housekeeper let herself in claiming to deliver hand towels and handed my daughter a strip of paper with a bible verse on it.. good thing we had decided not to go out that night. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

Overall the stay was great, I do not think we would stay again, but the staff, amenities, restaurants, service was all expected for a 3-4 star resort. Our favorite restaurant on the palace resort was Krystal, with the seaside steak house coming in a close second. Make sure you book these immediately upon your arrival to the resort. They let us book 3 days in advance and then you book additional if you are staying longer as your stay continues on the RIU app.

The guest rooms are extremely outdated with cheap poorly executed finishes that do not reflect a resort experience. More concerning was the conduct of the front desk and management. During housekeeping minor makeup residue was noted on towels and sheets which is normal wear and tear for a beach resort. Nothing was excessive or damaged. Despite this housekeeping never replaced our towels or changed our sheets during our stay. Just left a pile in the room. A day before checkout we received an email stating we owed $520 for towel and sheet damages. That same evening around 7PM security and housekeeping repeatedly knocked on our door and called our hotel phone back to back. When we did not answer because we were napping housekeeping unlocked and entered our room without consent to address the charge noticed we were asleep and left. This was frightening and a serious violation of privacy and safety. We do not mind replacing towels if necessary but $520 is unreasonable. During checkout we were refused the ability to leave the resort and were told the hotel would call the airport to prevent us from leaving Jamaica if we did not pay. After back and forth the charge was reduced to $200 which we paid under pressure. They then attempted to charge $240 contradicting the agreement. Multiple staff members could not explain this policy or why it was not disclosed at check in. This experience felt predatory particularly as two young women traveling together.

Staff is excellent, amenities great especially Elite Club amenities. Beach is clean and well stocked with chairs and tables. Only complaint is cockroach found in room. Staff said they are everywhere. A bit unsettling!!!
