St-Michel-de-Cuixa Abbey is totally worth seeing. To chill close by, book a room at the Résidence Hôtésia Balcons du Canigou.

Further accommodations include the Riberach, which is 18 kilometres from downtown, and the La Chaumière, which is 30 kilometres away. Alternatively, make your way 25 kilometres from central Molitg-les-Bains to the Le Jardin de la Sals (l’écluse au soleil).

Everyone knows Aussies are pretty laid back, so consider kicking back a little longer and checking out the Mont-Louis Citadel and Formigueres Ski Resort in Matemale, 25 kilometres to the southwest of Molitg-les-Bains. If you want to spend a night or two in Matemale, look into the rates at the La Résidence les Esplaneilles and Mona Lisa Le Clos des Fontaneilles. 30 kilometres to the southwest of Molitg-les-Bains you'll find Mont-Louis, which is home to the Le Clos Cerdan and Hotel L'Ancienne Auberge. Gorges de Caranca and the Golf de Font-Romeu are just some of the most popular places to see when visiting Mont-Louis.

Perpignan can be found 40 kilometres away from Molitg-les-Bains and has a population of 110,000. When you're in the area, you'd be mad if you didn't check out the University of Perpignan, St. Jacques Church and the Palais des Congres. If you end up hanging out for a while, continue on and check out the vibe at Campo Santo and Perpignan Cathedral. Perpignan offers accommodations to suit most budgets and tastes, such as the La Villa Duflot and Best Western Plus Hotel Windsor.

I had a really great stay at this hotel. Everything was modern, clean, and comfortable. My room was lovely — very cozy bed, stylish bathroom, and even a fridge, which was super convenient. The whole place feels really well looked after. I stayed in autumn and it was so peaceful. There’s a beautiful little stream behind the hotel, and the pools and outdoor spaces look amazing — perfect for summer. The location is quiet and relaxing, though there aren’t many restaurants nearby. It’s about a 10-minute drive to Quillan. The staff were fantastic — really friendly, welcoming, and professional. The front desk service was excellent, and the waitress at the restaurant was lovely too. Parking on-site was easy and convenient. I truly enjoyed my stay and would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the pools and sunshine!
