Tired of being an armchair traveller? Want to experience the real thing? Moiese is the perfect place to start. It sits among the spectacular mountains and prairies of Montana. (You might have to step off the beaten path a little, but that's what travelling is all about, right?)

It's situated 3,100 kilometres to the west of United States of America's capital, Washington.

There are some natural sights surrounding Moiese. Why not take off 16 kilometres to Ninepipe Wildlife Management Area? Alternatively, soak up nature's artwork at Kerr Dam, 35 kilometres away.

Leave a trail of white powder behind you as you tear down the slopes at Blacktail Mountain Ski Area. True powder hounds will also want to head to Montana Snow Bowl Ski Area.

You should consider National Bison Range. It's a perfect spot to check out if you've got some time to spare.

If you're contemplating venturing outwards, journey 11 kilometres northeast to Charlo. This is where you'll come across the Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana and Nine Pipe Reservoir. We also suggest swinging by Ronan, 20 kilometres to the northeast, for the Mission Mountain Golf Course and Kicking Horse Reservoir.

Roughly 80 kilometres to the north, Bigfork is a destination with plenty to do. The Bigfork Summer Playhouse, the Eagle Bend Golf Club and Kehoe's Agate Shop are all nearby. That said, the Riecke's Bayside Gallery and the Eric Thorsen Art Studio may be more your thing.
