Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, room comfort
We were stopping off to get some sleep during a road trip, so we were just needing a no frills place to get a few hours of sleep. We’ve stayed in the area before, and there were several hotels in the same area. This was the best deal, and we’ve never had any real safety or cleanliness concerns until this. We pulled up and there was a cop car outside. I walked in, and there were a couple of men standing around talking about the incident that had occurs. The front desk lady had stepped out get get some towels for another guest, and when she walked back she was frazzled. She was new and was there by herself, so she didn’t know how to print the receipt or run the card. She was very nice, but also stated “You get what you pay for” and “Welcome to the dirty south.” As I got more nauseated, we made our way to our room. There was loud music playing outside and when we walked into the room, the beds were unmade and the whole room look unclean. We immediately walked back to the van (my husband and I, our 2 teenagers, my 84 y/o mother in law, and our 3 year old). We didn’t stop at the front desk or request a refund. We just left and went a few miles further down the road to a much safer, clean location. We will never stay anywhere near that area again! This is the first negative review I’ve ever had to write, and we have stayed in MANY hotels over the years. We always look for lower priced rooms when we just need a quick few hours of sleep and have never had any concerns until this.
