It lies 1,450 kilometres southwest of Beijing, China's capital city.

Mother Nature's splendour can be seen in multiple places around Mianzhu. Just 30 kilometres away, White Water River Natural Reserve is a good place to start. Chengdu Longmen Mountain sits 30 kilometres away and is another nice spot to find some peace and quiet.

Are you a huge sports fan? Then you should look into the event schedule at Deyang Sports Center, located 30 kilometres to the southeast in Deyang.

Have a stroll around Mianzhu New Year Pictures Museum and see if anything tickles your fancy. Also, be sure to think about heading over to Jiannanchun Wine Workshop Ruins.

The Deyang Confucian Temple and Stone Carving Wall are not far from the middle of Deyang, 20 kilometres to the southeast of Mianzhu. Why not go there and have a look?

Try to blend in with your hosts by learning a handful of expressions in Mandarin. Try to say 'Nǐ hǎo'. It means 'hello'. Maybe you'll find 'Hěn gāoxìng rènshi nǐ' easier to say? This means 'pleased to meet you'.

When it finally comes time to leave, spend the last of your holiday allowance and say "Zàijiàn" to Mianzhu.
