Sited in the Beacons in its own grounds, location is just idilic. Plenty of parking with easy access and a warm, friendly welcome on entering reception you do feel like you are privileged just being there. Rooms are large, well appointed and clean. Arriving just after lunch we had a very generous and delicious bar meal and drinks to tide us over to the evening meal booked. Pool and spa facilities are again spotlessly clean, with free towels and robes for residents. Evening meal options to suit all tastes were excellent, with a good selection of wines and quality beers served all surprisingly reasonably priced. Breakfast was part of the room price and again gave excellent selection self serve whilst awaiting you hot breakfast cooked to your preference. As an older building, not everything is perfect and some areas could do with update and/or TLC but this in no way affected our enjoyment and stay. Finally, thanks go to the entire staff who without exception made our stay special from start to finish.

The bathroom The bath had a big chuck out of it and the shower attached to the bath taps was very loose the carpet was wet where the radiator was leaking and at dinner meal my steak was very fatty .

Excellent for the price. Full breakfast included. Pool and hot tub included. Free parking. It was very clean but a little worn around the edges and closer to the road than I would have thought but overall I'd definitely come back. Hot tub was great after hiking all day. Area is exceptionally beautiful. We liked the small town of Llandovery if you're looking for a cute place to eat. Staff was lovely. Bar and restaurant on site.

Our dinner at this hotel was very disappointing, and the room was tired and dirty. We wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t stay here again. The hotel and restaurant had received high ratings on Expedia and Trip Advisor, but both were a big letdown. We stayed with our one-year-old and initially had a family room, but we opted for a quieter room at the back. The staff were friendly and helpful, but that was where the positives ended. The room was basic and had questionable marks all over it. There were brown stains on the ironing board that wiped clean, but there were also marks on the curtains, lampshade, walls, and ceiling. The en-suite bathroom looked like it had been repaired by an amateur, with plaster and grout marks that were very visible. The sofa looked tired and dirty, and there were numerous dead spiders that hadn’t been cleaned or removed. Thankfully, the bedding was fresh and clean. The restaurant and dinner were also below average. Wetherspoons would have been a better quality and value option. The total cost for two mains and one side was £56, which would be reasonable if the meals had been of a decent standard. The full lemon sole cost £30 and was small. It came with a grilled half lemon and spicy butter, but the butter wasn’t evenly spread on the fish. The side serving of veg was overpriced at £4.50 and consisted of two stale asparagus stalks, two slices of courgette, and the rest of hard carrot batons. Recouping!

Popped down for a 3 night stay after having a hand operation. It was a really good idea as it stopped me trying to do anything I shouldn’t have been doing and it gave my husband time to spend with me as opposed to having to run around for me. Staff as usual friendly, helpful and wonderful!

So took the wife away for a romantic weekend in an executive suite with Balcony. The room was in need of a little TLC. Cracked tiles and broken shower door which had been replaced with a shower curtain. There was a lack of bins in the suite with just one small one in the living area and none in the bedroom or bathroom. When we used the shower on Sunday morning we were unable to turn the temperature down. We reported it and the plumber arrived at around 10.00 just as we were going out for the day, when we arrived back at 5.00 to be told that the plumber had broken it and the water to the room had been turned off. We could stay and have a free meal but would have no working toilet etc. We obviously declined this and they did give a refund. At no point during the day did they bother to contact us to warn us. We ended up having a 3 hr drive home. With our first weekend away in tatters. Very poor customer service and no mention of compensation they even charged got the meal on Saturday. The food is good. Won’t be back or recommend it to anyone.

The value for money at this property is incredible - staff friendly, breakfast delicious and generous, rooms spacious, free access to gym and spa facilities, and an onsite restaurant and pub mean its very handy for food. I would definitely come back. However, the property is a bit run down, and the reception desk was abandoned most of the time - just go around to the pub and they'll help. Still exceptionally good value, and recommended.

Lovely staff but room needs decorating

The room was very tired, patches of paint missing from the walls, old furniture. The bathroom really needed redecorating, paint peeling from wood, old silicon missing and dark in colour. The spa was also tired with bits of tiles missing from the jacuzzi. No extra towels were available for spa usage. With all that, the Staff were extremely lovely and we had an ok stay. The room was clean. It was in a lovely setting and with some basic decorating this would be a super place.
