After enjoying the comfy beds of Yijia Hotel, you won't have to travel too far to reach downtown Meishan.

Unfortunately, there are only a few no-frills accommodations for travellers on a shoestring. Of these, Renhe Hotel is up there with the best.

Popular things to do in this corner of China include mountain climbing, hiking and horse riding, so don't be afraid to have a crack!

It's well known that Aussies just love to relax, so consider hanging round a little longer and going to the Shengshui Pavillion and Qili Slope in Emeishan, 70 kilometres to the southwest of Meishan. The Mount Emei Xianhelou Hotel and Time Machine Hotel are some of the long and short-stay options here. 80 kilometres to the north of Meishan you'll find Chengdu, which is home to The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu and Shangri-la Hotel Chengdu. Wide and Narrow Street and Beihu Park are up there with the most popular places to check out for those visiting Chengdu.

Hopped on the last flight into Meishan? Totally knackered? Then it's probably a good idea to grab some accommodation within cooee of the airport.
