If the sun is shining (or even if it's not), you could also get out there and have a go at some popular local pastimes like snowboarding and skiing.

Looking for things to do? Spend the day visiting the Wadden Sea UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Jade Weser Port Info Center. You'll find them in Aldenburg, 30 kilometres to the southeast of Marz. If you want to visit Aldenburg, look into the Hotel am Stadtpark and Friesen Hotel. Or, you could consider staying in Wilhelmshaven, 30 kilometres to the east of Marz, where you'll find the home Hotel and Hotel Ammerland Garni. Tossens Beach and the Wilhelmshaven-Friesland Golf Club are just some of the most popular sites to check out in Wilhelmshaven.

Sitting 65 kilometres east of Marz is Bremerhaven, a regional centre with a population of 120,000. It's home to some sweet attractions, like Atlanticum, the National German Maritime Museum and the River Weser Dyke Promenade. The Wilhelm Bauer Submarine Museum and Zoo at the Sea are a couple more attractions which are sure to offer up some envy-inducing photo ops.
