This hotel would have received a higher rating, however money was stolen from our room during our stay. We specifically brought this to the attention of the staff, who directed us to the Manager. We stated we had not requested a room clean and had the signage placed outside our room and the room was cleaned anyway, and the money went missing. He stated the cleaning staff was contractual and not his staff and he would look into it by sending an email to the cleaning company. He told us we should have placed belongings into the hotel safe in his office, of which we were never told of at check-in, or any other time. He basically stated it was of our fault as we had taken the risk of leaving items in our room. To be clear: the cash was in a zippered wallet within a bag, in addition to the fact that we had the 'do not disturb' sign on our door. He stated the cleaners are paid per room they clean so it is not uncommon for them to take the sign off and clean the room, so there was "nothing he could do." The least he could have done as the Manager was to discount the room for the amount of money lost, but to date (a month later), absolutely NOTHING has been done.
We are well seasoned world travelers and have never had an issue in any of our travels with theft. Highly disappointed in the lack of care or concern of hotel guests. I would encourage looking elsewhere to stay.
