Book Marlborough Forest hotels

We had fallen in love with the Sands Hotel in an earlier overnight visit (2023). The ocean view from the room was exceptional and the weather was pleasant so we slept with the doors open listening the to ocean and the breeze. Staff was wonderful and meals were good. Folks went above and beyond by being able to make up an ad hoc dinner when the power was out - delicious fish dinner by candlelight. There was a decent number of construction projects underway so it looks like the hotel will only get better.

Location across from beach, pier, and bush walks was ideal. Host was very accommodating.

Cleanest motel we have stayed in. The bathroom was just sparkling! Great check in staff - very friendly and helpful.

Everything was good except that the TV did not cast as it was too old and the bedroom configuration was not helpful for adults sharing living accommodation, i.e. two of the bedrooms were accessed by going through the other room with sleeping accommodation. It would have been helpful to know this for privacy reasons for our group. Otherwise, we had a lovely stay and were very happy.

Owners were very accommodating allowing for early check in and late checkout, the property was nice and clean it had all the facilities we needed. Was a great get away for us.
