very poor customer service. customer humiliated.
i booked this room for a friend choosing pay at hotel. my friend arrived on a delayed flight from china at 9pm. he had changed rmb into swedish cash but the hotel refused to accept payment. the receptionist blamed my friend for not having read the moments website which says cash not accepable. the hotel suggested he ask taxi drivers outside the hotel to use their credit cards to pay his bill and then my friend would give them cash! apparently this has happened before. naturally they refused! after an hour a german couple staying at the hotel agreed to pay the bill and received cash payment. my friend had been booked to stay at this hotel later this month but as he was humiliated and embarrassed has cancelled that. this is the first negative review posted by me of a hotel, i stayed here last year and it was on my recommendation that my friend stayed here, so i in turn feel disappointed. during the above checkin experience my friend was in constant wechat communicatiion with me and i can say he was very depressed, frustrated and angry. i have written to hotels.com asking them to update information about the cashless situation in sweden as my friend also got turned away from local restaurants. had i known i would have paid the bill in advance. surely moments should use common sense and allowed cash payment?
