Reception

The gentleman on morning reception on 5 and 6 June was so helpful. The ladies who cleaned the rooms too were pleasant and smiling. The only thing which lets this hotel down is not proving a bottle of water in the room, a niggardly thing considering the pennies it would cost

Water?

The hotel is basic but absolutely fine, and the reception desk was friendly and helpful. My gripe is that there was not a bottle of water in the room. In my experience this is pretty standard in the area and not providing this little essential seemed to smack of meanness by the management

Everything was good. No coffeemaker in the building, inconvenient when you have an early morning tour. Place was clean, rooms cleaned daily, rooms smaller, beds a little hard… staff was wonderful. Close to train station, the big bus tour, numerous places to eat.

No Electric kettle The sound of water is clearly audible when someone uses the shower upstairs or in the adjacent room, which compromises privacy. Additionally, the bed is squeaky and causes disturbance."

Everything was good, rooms are basic and a bit small, housekeeping everyday, desk staff were very helpful, very clean.. the only downside was no coffee maker …especially when we had an early tour and everything was closed. Walkable to the train station and the City Bus tour.

I stayed in the 6th floor. Lift only went to 5th floor and then I had to carry my own luggage one more floor through narrow stairs. Room furniture was dated and so was the toilet fittings. I experienced the power shutdown while staying at this hotel. Not their fault but they could have made an effort to help guests by providing candles or torches. Location is good. Walking distance to beach front.

It's located a little further away from the city centre but still convenient enough - kind of half way between the train station and the old town. Not a lot near the hotel and can be a little quiet at night so be careful of safety. Rooms were clean and pleasant.

Nice size room, clean and great bathroom/shower. Good location near train station on a quiet street with excellent nearby cafe. Hotel staff very responsive and helpful. Only issue was our automatic keycard entry system was not working which required frequent assistance from the helpful front desk staff.

We had an overnight stay at this hotel. The beach was a pretty good hike, but the walk wasn't difficult and the harbour area en route to the beach was a nice walk in itself. The hotel had what we needed for a comfortable stay, and was very close to the bus station which was our main criteria for picking it. Easy walk to our bus in the morning, and lots of options for breakfast at the bus station. The hotel did have the option for breakfast, but we were leaving beforehand so didn't get to try that out.

The hotel is only a short walk from both the railway station and the bus station. The staff member on reception was courteous and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was quite large with a huge shower. It is only a short distance to the river where one can cross the bridge and get to the old part of the city.

Great find, will stay again!

Great hotel & location with very friendly & welcoming reception staff; only stayed for 1 night at start of holiday but so good we booked it again before returning home. Spotlessly clean, nice room & very comfy bed, only snag was going to sister hotel a few minutes away for breakfast.
