The hotel was lovely, starting with the very contemporary floral display in the lobby. Our room had an interesting layout, which made it the perfect retreat for our stay in Madrid. Access to the Metro and walkability were tops. I couldn’t give the outside full marks as the gardens and driveway are under renovation. Altogether a fantastic place to stay.

Construction had us changing rooms because work was happening while we were there. This was compensated only after asking for a complimentary breakfast, which was greatly appreciated as we had to pack up and move when we had other plans while there. During the move, we realized that the previous room did not have washcloths, which we did get in the new room. The wash amenities, soaps, and shampoos were also added in the new room, but not in the original room. We had to ask for additional towels, and it seemed a lot was going on while we stayed there. The staff was wonderful! Angie and Alba are the stars of the hotel, as it were. Genuine and gracious, they made the stay memorable. One of the new people that day was very amusing to us as he was totally distracted by himself always in the mirrors of the hotel. We saw it as funny and assured him he looked good. :)

The Hotel is excellent. There are currently renovations going on which means there are workmen on site but in the main the work was carried out discreetly. Except on Thursday evening when hammers and drills were being used right next door to our bedroom. Whilst this was probably a genuine error, hotel staff were slow to stop the noise which was annoying to us and other residents. Instead of immediately dealing with the problem staff wanted to give us explanations as to why this work was necessary. That is not good enough when you are charging the room rates that are being made. The noise was stopped but it took over an hour. This is poor customer service.

Check-in was fast and easy and they made sure that I had a room with a great view. I also appreciated the door man that always stood by the entrance door to the hotel. I felt safe and really appreciated that extra touch!

Nice view and size

Our room had a nice view and a good size. The problem was the cleaning, nails on the floor and the bathroom smelled cat pee. Complained about it but, the smell did not disappeared.
