It lies 130 kilometres away from Klagenfurt am Woerthersee and its energetic streets.

Punta Verudela Beach and Rabac Beach should be at the top of your list if you fancy somewhere to lounge by the seaside.

Head out of Lopar and be prepared to experience some unique natural attractions. Just 20 kilometres away, Skocjan Caves is a splendid spot to get a little fresh air. You also can't lose with Grotta Gigante, 25 kilometres away from Lopar.

Enjoy the sensation of icy wind on your face as you traverse your way back to base at Mount Kanin Ski Resort. If you're really chasing that powder, you'll also want to pack up your skis or snowboard and head to Platak Ski Resort.

There's even more to see and do just around the corner. Marezige, 2 kilometres to the west, is popular for Koper Cathedral and Hrastovlje. Alternatively, if the Muda Gate and Praetorian Palace are more appealing, head 2 kilometres south from Lopar to Truške.

You may have the urge to set up base in Manzan for a bit. This place is 5 kilometres to the west and not too far from the Vinakoper, Cathedral of the Assumption and the Column of St Justina. Some other nearby attractions are Prešernov Trg and Trg Brolo.
