Had a room with a connecting door (room 322).
Could hear occupants in adjoining room talking into early hours of the morning.
Otherwise we had a good stay and good food in the restaurant. Restaurant menu is quite comprehensive I might add.
Comfortable rooms, nice decor, clean hotel only downfall is the items in the room. Body wash was empty so we had to call for one and not enough tea for x2 nights

£50 deposit still hasn't been refunded which is poor

Our team stayed here on business whilst working in the area. The hotel was fully booked for our first week and had the awful option of nowhere to stay other than the grim Premier Inn. We found the Mercure luxurious compared to the other hotel for not much more money. Only negative is that my TV went off 4 times throughout the night apparently people use the tv’s as alarm clocks but I think they actually do it for badness. This happened to several of our team so not restricted to my room. Please make sure you switch the tv off at the wall when going to bed. The hotel reception are aware of this problem and said it’s common.
I didn’t like having to leave a £50 deposit when I checked in and paid on arrival for my room.
Room was clean and comfortable; nice & quiet at the end of the corridor. I didn’t use the restaurant or hotel amenities.
Decaf coffee but no decaf tea on tea tray in room.
No plug for bath tub so you can’t have a bath here? Bathroom decor a bit tired.
If, like me, you feel the cold bring warm PJs and bed socks as the duvet is more like a sheet and I found the room to be a little chilly.
Hotel is ok and I’d stay here again due to location being convenient for the train station and town centre.
Lovely hotel, great atmosphere and very friendly staff, even though functions were on the rooms were very quiet, We had a lovely time here would definitely return
I cannot express enough how helpful the staff were, i missed my gig due to horrendous rail services, but the staff went above and beyond to assist me.
