When you stay at Caldera Bay in Platanias, you'll be on the beach, within a 15-minute drive of Agia Marina Beach and Old Venetian Harbor.
The staff were great, no fault to them at all… but the hotel and area surrounding were extremely drab. There is absolutely no vibe or energy at this hotel, the room has no decor, the shower was falling apart. Breakfast was gross. The neighborhood is pretty much the opposite of what you think Crete ...

Last day we had to use the common showers at reception to get ready and they were in a very very poor condition! It was a complete disappointment and ruined the whole stay
