Great location and staff, poor room

This is what we loved about the hotel: The location is excellent. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast each morning was delicious. The shower and water pressure were good. The size of the room was ample and the decor was beautiful. This is what could use improvement: The room (red room) looked beautiful and was isolated from street noise, but had a few issues. The bed and pillows were just okay. I could have used a lighter weight blanket or a sheet. There is no courtyard or view at all, which makes the balcony pointless. The room is next to the breakfast area, so it would be a poor choice unless you are an early riser as dish noises start around 6:45. Worst of all, the air conditioner seemed to pump in a sewage smell. We checked the bathroom and it smelled fine. Outside smelled fine as well. The staff attempted to remediate the issue by covering the smell with a spray perfume, which sort of worked, but by the next morning, the room would smell again. The last night we avoided using the air conditioning, and that seemed to help. I would consider staying at another property from this company because of the staff, but I would not stay at this property or in the red/pink room again.

Very nice small 'boutique' style hotel. Friendly staff, comfortable room, good breakfasts and really quiet despite being in a great location close to Chiado underground and a couple of minutes walk from the Bairro Alto area with loads of bars and restaurants to choose from.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very welcoming and the room was very clean and comfortable. There was a nice individual touch at the end of our visit with a hand-written letter thanking us for our stay. The breakfast was good and kept well topped up. The linens in the room were nice and clean but some of them were a little tired with some frayed edges on the towels.

Both the property and staff are wonderful. It has lots of old world charm but with the advantage that all the modern amenities (e.g. WIFI, plumbing etc) work perfectly. The fresh morning breakfast is outstanding, especially when compared to the usual stuff in US hotels. The location in the Chiado is wonderful. Endless dining and shopping options. Extremely close to metro options. Just a wonderful spot to base your Lisbon visit.

The hotel was fantastic, great location, walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops. The room was very spacious, the shower water pressure was very strong. The room was a little dimly lit, but that gave it a romantic feel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast was amazing. We would return next time.

This is an outstanding little boutique hotel in the heart of the old town of Lisbon. We highly recommend the property. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, the property is well-maintained and the staff are lovely. Breakfast is a treat in their beautiful breakfast room. The location is excellent and surrounded by shops and restaurants.

Great Lisbon Location

The breakfast and staff were incredible! The rooms were spacious and provided an antique elegance combined with modern romantic touches that made you feel right at home. The staff stayed open for a late check-in for us at 12 AM and still carried our bags upstairs where we were greeted with the local delicacy Pasteis de Nata. AMAZING!
