Room was spacious enough, clean and comfortable. Old building so sound proofing can be an issue. However, the location makes up for it. Tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood, yet close enough to all shopping spots and subway. The staff is incredible - very friendly and accommodating. Amazing breakfast choices.

Booked at Expedia based on the pictures shown and reviews. The hotel is close to Rossio square and convenient for getting to downtown. The facility conditions are not good. Hallway floor is not clean. Toilet is outdated. Body wash dispenser is not working. The floor is not even. The bedroom floor is higher than the bathroom floor. This can be a safety hazard for senior. The reception area decor is good but furniture needs some work. Some Chair barely holds itself. The breakfast area and breakfast is the only highlight. Very good food and arrangement. Overall, the stay is fine mainly because of the breakfast. No recommendation for the facilities.

Great location! Very eclectic (in a good way). Each room has its own personality. We stayed two different nights (before and after our cruise) in two different rooms and enjoyed them both. Staff is VERY friendly. Breakfast is delicious and impressive. If I find myself back in Lisbon, I will definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the aptly named Hotel Alegría In late October and early November, 2025. It is very near all the important sites in downtown Lisbon, and we easily walked to the castle, the waterfront, and many other downtown places of interest. The train and metro stations were very close by. The food was excellent. The breakfast included a large assortment of breads, fruit, cheeses, meats, yogurt, juices, coffee drinks, and omelets made to order, and everything was beautifully presented. The rooms were charming and fully stocked with everything we needed. But, what made our stay in Lisbon the most enjoyable was the incredible friendliness and helpfulness of every member of the staff with whom we had contact, especially David and Danielo (sp ?). They helped us with questions about transportation, directions, calling Ubers, and finding restaurants. The restaurant staff even made food to order when I was not feeling well. The smiles of all of the people who work at Howl Alegría made our stay in Lisbon truly special.

Loved the charm the hotel offered. It was furnished with beautiful tiles, wood floors - traditional furniture. Staff was so very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and we would go back

This hotel was situated on a pretty little square. It was charming, well-appointed, supremely comfortable, and all the staff were particularly pleasant to deal with. The breakfasts in the morning offered an enormous choice, and everything was plentiful and delicious. They would even make us something special if we asked, like an omelet, or a special coffee. We loved this hotel. It was my favorite of our entire trip!

The area was lovely, we had a master suite and it was ok. The room was very warm and wouldn’t cool down, the bed was very hard. The room was clean but for us it wasn’t worth the cost.
