The former is positioned 20 kilometres from central Legazpia, and the second is 30 kilometres away. If these don't float your boat, we'd suggest the Parador De Argomaniz, which is 25 kilometres from the downtown area.

But don't just limit your sightseeing to Legazpia. Take an extra day or two to experience some of the amazing attractions and activities that the wider Basque Country region has to offer. Nature buffs should check out Legazpia's incredible rural landscapes. A few other gotta-sees to stick on your hit list are old towns and historic bridges. If the weather is putting on a show (or even if it's not), you could also try some popular local pastimes like mountain climbing and hiking.

Beizama is another place where you can sit back and order up room service like a boss. Located 16 kilometres northeast of Legazpia, it's where you'll discover the Sanctuary of Loyola and Basque Railway Museum. The Albergue ambiental de Beizama and Hotel Hospedería Larrañaga are just some of the great hotel and apartment options here. Alternatively, you could stay in Deba, 25 kilometres to the north of Legazpia, where you can pick from the Aisia Deba and Hotel Arbe. If you're staying in Deba, set aside some time to visit Santiago Beach and the Zuloaga Museum.

You'll come across some great visitor attractions in Hendaye. Chateau d'Abbadie, Hendaye Beach and Castillo de Carlos V are up there with the best. This regional hub is positioned 60 kilometres northeast of Legazpia and has a population of 14,000. Got more time to spare? Take advantage of the photo ops at the Plaza Gipuzkoa and Hondarribia Beach. There are a number of great hotels where you can hit the hay for a night or two in Hendaye. Unless you're planning to set up camp at Vitoria Airport, it might be wise to book some accommodation. The Gorbea is pretty close by, or you could always travel to the centre of town. It's 35 kilometres away.
