Book Le Grand Massif hotels

The chalet worked very well for us, a family party aged 8 months to 70 years. The football table was well used and the car park was turned into a badminton court. It was lovely to be so close to the village and the lake all an easy walk which the older children could do without an adult. It is a lovely quiet location but there is plenty to do within walking, biking or a short car journey. Some went on the Via ferrata, some on the mountain bike trails, some on the inflatable course or boating or swimming on the lake. Some did all of it. We were a party of 19 and 2 slept in their campervan on the drive as no one wanted to sleep on the sofa beds each night. They were useful when some younger children wouldn't sleep. We took extra tea towels and toilet rolls, otherwise everything was provided.

Wounderful view, cute rooms

This was literally the absolute worst hotel (really, it was more like a hostel) that I have stayed in either stateside or abroad. The property only allows you to communicate with them during two short periods daily around check-in and out. Their information indicates check in is not on the property. After needing to call for clarification, we were given a separate address that led us to the same location. There is no parking at the actual hotel because of construction. You have to park down the road. I asked at check in why they did not address this on their site or in communications. They said if we had reserved through them, they would have, but because we reserved through Expedia, "We don't choose to." The hotel is incredibly run down. The room was awful. Everything looked dirty. They give you pachaged sheets and towels (yes, you get the pleasure of bothmaking AND unmaking your own "bed"), many of which were either dirty or had permanent staining. The mattresses, furniture, etc. were all clearly from the hotel's inception probably 50 years ago. Just imagine what those "mattresses" have seen. You get flat sheets to throw over said mattresses. The mattresses might as well be from the days when they were filled with straw they were so hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom sink sprayed you with water when turned on and the shower had drainage issues. The walls were thin. We could hear those around us. There were black beetles on the floor. They charged us 2x for one payment

The hotel was excellent, fantastic location and great facilities. We would definitely go again.

Expensive for what the hotel is. Reception area is nice but rooms are pokey. Had to make own beds, take bins out ourselves!
