An outstanding hotel just a few steps from Kyoto Station. Staff uniformly kind and helpful. Large double room with a nice bathroom, mini-fridge and a sofa. My rate was a bargain. Excellent buffet breakfast. Very highly recommended.

Miyako Hotel is a nice place. Overall, I would recommend staying at Miyako Hotel. Cons: hotel have a restriction of early check-in. The check‑in kiosks could use an upgrade, and they don’t have a laundromat, only paid laundry services. There are no microwaves available anywhere in the hotel. Pros: The rooms are spacious, similar to the horels in the U.S., but the beds are quite firm. The hotel provides restroom amenities, robes, and slippers, which is a plus. The station, Aeon Mall, and grocery store are all about a five‑minute walk away, making the location very convenient.

Room was clean and spacious considering Japan hotel room. Just dislike that we were not allowed to control the temperature in the rooms. Was told by staff that hotel’s heater is centralized so we could only make it hotter and not colder since the AC does not work in the winter. Was advised to open the window which was not ideal since you could only slightly crack it open and introduced noise. Wish we could control the ac and had the option to watch Netflix like the other hotels. Other than that breakfast buffet was good and hotel was nice.
