The hotel was lovely, staff very welcoming at the reception and the room was of a good size, clean with everything we needed for our stay. The restaurant needs updating, it looks rather shabby. I would have liked a better choice of cereal, fresh fruit and yoghurt at breakfast. The hotel was in a great location.

Loved the onsen. The facilities were clean, the smells were nice, the design of the courtyard is great. Breakfast is expensive and the location is a bit far from the station, but it’s great for everything else.

This was my second time staying at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei, and I will gladly stay again when I return to Kyoto. The staff was warm, welcoming, and accommodating, and did everything they could to ensure our stay was as enjoyable as it could be. The location is also very central and easily accessible by transit.

Mitsui Garden hotels earned a lifelong customer due to the care, professionalism, and service provided during our 4-night stay. The staff were attentive and kind assisting my wife and I in both English and Japanese. The room was clean, spacious and all amenities of your choosing are provided. We were able to use the buffet breakfast several times and it was delicious and the staff were very courteous even though they were extremely busy. On a personal note, I would like to say Yoshida-san in reception really stood out and was super kind to myself and my wife. We were recently married and she had provided us a small gift of congratulations. Thank you Mitsui Garden, the staff, and Yoshida-san for making our Kyoto trip even more memorable!
