The Ace Hotel Kyoto is a beautiful property that has an energetic vibe and several interesting dining and shopping options. Its location near the subway is perfect for exploring Kyoto and is walking distance to the Sanjo shopping arcade and Nishiki Market. The rooms are clean, comfortable and stylish. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I absolutely LOVED the Ace Hotel in Kyoto. There is a subway station accessible right from the lobby which was SO convenient, and several bus stations within a block or two of the hotel. It was also walkable to many other staple sights like Nishiki market and Teramachi Street. The room and hotel amenities were fantastic. I loved the overall look and vibe of the space.

This was second stay. Things have deteriorated. The staff was much less fluent in English. The breakfast was too big without enough choices and the service was super slow, Ate at the Mexican restaurant. Service also slow and portions were tiny.

This hotel was one of the best we stayed at while in Japan, not because it was the most luxurious ( although it is very nice) but because it has a great atmosphere and the reception and serving staff are excellent. It truly is a place where “east meets west” in a perfect way!
