Want to stay near KwaNompondo? With just 1 hotel within 10 kilometres of its centre, you'll have to move quick!

Base yourself close to the action and book a night at the Ubizane Wildlife Reserve. It’s about as central as you can get!

More hotel options include the Leopard Mountain Safari Lodge, which is 30 kilometres from central KwaNompondo, and the Rhino River Lodge, which is 30 kilometres away. If these don't float your boat, we'd recommend you check out the Bushwillow Collection, which is 25 kilometres from the downtown area.

St. Lucia is situated 45 kilometres to the southeast of KwaNompondo. While here, you can swing by Themba's Birding & Eco-tours. St. Lucia hotels and apartments include the Lidiko Lodge and Ingwenya Lodge. Alternatively, you'll find Sodwana Bay 75 kilometres to the northeast of KwaNompondo. While in Sodwana Bay, be sure to visit Sodwana Bay Beach. The Coral Divers and Sodwana Bay Lodge are great places to catch some rest in Sodwana Bay.

Where you'll find Boardwalk Mall, Richards Bay is located 80 kilometres away from KwaNompondo. The Protea Hotel by Marriott Richards Bay Waterfront and Imvubu Lodge are some great lodging options in this section of Kwazulu-Natal.

Unless you're going to set up camp at Mkuze Airport, it's probably a good idea to book some accommodation before you leave. The Ghost Mountain Inn is pretty close by, or you could always travel to the centre of town. It's 50 kilometres away.

The lodge is lovely with very attentive staff. The cat sanctuary is a must visit and trips to Hluhluwe was easy to organise. It is an easy drive to St Lucia and to Bayete to see the elephant education demonstration which is a must-do. Be aware that there is very little around there so likely you will need to eat dinner at the lodge. The foods is quite plain with not much choice. Also be aware that the rooms have no TVs. I would recommend the Lodge for its position and the attentive staff.
