It's located close to a couple of the country's best-known cities. Head 75 kilometres southeast to check out the action at Wiesbaden. Alternatively, take off southeast 80 kilometres to reach Mainz.

There are some striking natural attractions outside of Kruft. Why not take off 40 kilometres to Rheinsteig? Alternatively, appreciate nature's artwork at Dragon's Rock, 30 kilometres away.

Don't just watch sport on the television, experience it, feel it and live it at Preuschoff Stadium! Located 35 kilometres away in Meckenheim, it's a superb place to get your fix whether you’re cheering for the home or away team.

Ride the chairlift to the top of Skilift Altenseelbach, drink in the sweeping views and then ski your way back to the lodge. For even more action, check out the trails at Skilift Neunkirchen.

You'll discover even more just down the road. Plaidt, 4 kilometres to the east, is known for the Roentgen-Museum and Deichwelle Neuwied. Alternatively, if Neuwied Castle and the Lava Dom sound better to you, head 4 kilometres north from Kruft to Nickenich.

About 6 kilometres to the northeast, Andernach is a destination with lots on offer. Burg Kray, Mennonite Cemetery and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church are close by. Keep in mind, St. Lubentius and St. Bartholomew are also worthwhile.
