Holidays in Kamizaki
Relaxation. Adventure. Relaxation. Adventure. Off to Kamizaki but can't figure out what kinda holiday you're after? Don't get in a fluster! We'll help sort it out.
It sits 330 kilometres to the southwest of Tokyo, the capital city of Japan.
Nothing else compares to enjoying a sunrise by the ocean. While you're here, be sure to visit Koijigahama Beach, 60 kilometres to the northeast.
How about some time out in nature? Pull out your car keys and head in the direction of Married Couple Rocks, 35 kilometres away from Kamizaki. You can also get a big breath of fresh air at Tategasaki Rock, 45 kilometres away.
Are you a keen sports buff? Then you'll want to look into the event schedule at Sun Arena, located 35 kilometres to the northeast in Ise.
Venture outwards and find out what's happening in Odai-cho, 16 kilometres to the northwest. Lots of travellers come here for the Ryushoji Temple and Takinomiya. Alternatively, Taki-gun is 19 kilometres to the northwest of Kamizaki. Swing by this locality for easy access to Kobenomiya Yomo Shrine and Road Station Iitaka.
Feel like visiting Shima Marineland, Shima Spain Village and Yokoyama Observatory? Get moving to Shima, 30 kilometres to the east, and set up base. These attractions, as well as Ise-Shima National Park Yokoyama Visitor Center and Roadside Station Iseshima, are all not far away.
There is no better way to experience a destination than to literally take a big bite out of it! You're invited to explore the culture, history and personality of Mie by trying some of its finest food and drink.
A common ingredient in the food here is beef. One more is noodles. Give them a go if they're not a part of your food repertoire already.
Don't miss the opportunity to tuck into tempura (deep fried seafood or vegetables) or yudofu (tofu simmered with kelp). These popular dishes are what Mie is all about.
Anpan (sweet roll) is a dessert that sums up this place in just one mouthful. Order a serving and then get another to go!
If you're feeling a bit thirsty and want to indulge in a glass of amber nectar, we recommend Asahi Premium Beer Jukusen. Take advantage of happy hour, mingle with new friends and drink up!
Junmaishu is most certainly worth sampling. On the rocks, mixed or in a cocktail? The barkeeper will have a couple of taste bud-tickling recommendations.
Work on that pesky communication barrier by memorising a couple of phrases in the local tongue. You'll gain a more enriching experience and a few new friends while you're at it! First off the bat, try to get your mouth around 'Hisashiburi'. This translates as 'long time no see'. 'O-namae wa nan desu ka' ('what's your name?') is another one you may need.
You're bound to sense a party atmosphere in the air leading up to the 23rd of December. The locals will be preparing for Birthday of Emperor Akihito, a day of nation-wide celebrations.
Like all good things, your trip to Kamizaki must eventually come to an end. When it's finally time to leave, say "後でお会いしましょう (Atode o ai shimashou)" and spend your remaining holiday allowance on some keepsakes to take home.
The closest terminal is Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO). When the time comes to pack up your suitcase and take off, go 70 kilometres to the northeast.

Quintessa Hotel Iseshima
Everything was exceptionally good given that the pricing was reasonable. I especially liked the parking which is huge and parked in and out at your convenience. The room was spacious and the bathtub was quite big. The breakfast had a wide variety of food and choices. However, the wifi was a bit slow ...
