But there's no need to start pulling your hair out. Kelebia is approximately 60 kilometres away and features awesome places to stay, including the Hotel Jezero and Galleria Hotel.

Don't shoot through before you've had a squiz at the Palic Castle and the Palic Zoo in Palic. If you'd like to stay in Palic, look into the Hotel Park and Garni Hotel Park. Or, you could consider staying in Pecs, 75 kilometres to the southwest of Kalocsa, where you'll find the Hotel Laterum and Hotel Millennium. The Pecs Synagogue and Szechenyi Square are among the more popular sites to experience when visiting Pecs.

Go 85 kilometres northwest and you'll find Siofok, a regional centre with a population of 23,000. While you're exploring this neck of the woods, you'll be able to whip out your camera and get your tourist on at Golden Shore, Siófok Protestant Church and the Imre Kálmán Museum. Evangelist Church and Marina Siofok are a couple more attractions which are sure to offer up some choice photo ops. There are a number of great hotels where you can score a cosy room for a couple of nights in Siofok. Have a squiz at the facilities at the Apartment House Pater and Azur.
