If you're on your way to Kaeng Sopha, bear this in mind — hotel options in the vicinity are as sparse as the hair on your great uncle Frank's head!

But don't work yourself into a tizzy just yet. Phitsanulok is around 40 kilometres away and has some awesome places to crash, including the Amarin Lagoon Hotel and Taman Spa Resort.

Don't blow through before you've gone to the Wat Ban Na Yao and Kanchanapisek Pagoda in Khao Kho. If you want to visit Khao Kho, consider the rates at the Fufu In Love Cottages & Campground and Sirinati Khao Kho National Park. 95 kilometres to the west of Kaeng Sopha you'll also find Sukhothai, home to the Sila Resort and J&J Guesthouse.
