After spending a week at Marbella Elix, I am pleased to share our experience. Although our stay began with some minor drawbacks, the staff, particularly the general manager demonstrated exceptional dedication and promptly addressed all our concerns. We were delighted to find that the hotel now offers proper oat milk coffee, thanks to their responsiveness.
Throughout our stay, the entire staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, making us feel truly cared for. A highlight for our family was the star gazing event at night, which my daughter thoroughly enjoyed. It's the small things that make a big difference!
Thank you for making our stay enjoyable. We leave with happy smiles on our faces.
Comparison to the year before:
1. Price increased by 30%
2. Service went downhill by 50%
3. Staff has no common sense. Inexperienced, or untrained. Some with attitude. Just leaves a bad taste in mouth.
4. Food got WAY worse. Were much more choice for breakfast (you could have proper meal in indigo pool restaurant). Beach bar had some healthier choices.
5. Food in general lacks of choice and quality. I'm staying for a week and having a headache what should I do not to eat same food over and over and over again. Buffet is just meh, quality is avarage unless you prefer everything to be soaked in sauce and oil.
6. Coffe - terrible. How can 5* hotel don't have proper cappucino with oat milk? Tries all the different areas, one of the worst coffees for sure.
The views from the room and cleanliness is superb. But the staff itself and the food destroys the good experience. It could be 5* gem. Unfortunately it's not anymore. Not going to come back.
Great hotel with a beautiful unspoilt bay. Couple of things to note:
It isn't advertised as a family hotel but roughly 80% of families had children. Something to be mindful of when booking if you are child-free. The Marbella Nido is the sister hotel in Corfu, we stayed there last year and found the experience to be superior.
The hotel is a 90 minute drive from Preveza airport, taxi's cost 160 euros each way.
The buffet food is good, there is enough variation to not feel bored. It does get incredibly busy with people queuing for dishes during the core hours. We ended up going for breakfast at 10am and dinner at 9pm to ensure it was a bit more peaceful and more likely to get a space to eat outside. The busier hours felt somewhat canteen like.
There is a wonderful beach bar at the far end of the bay with frozen glasses and ice cold Mythos, would recommend: Chelidoni Beach Bar. The owner was a chemist so the beer is well conditioned.
We thought the gardens at the hotel were really beautiful and well maintained.
The exercise lessons and spa were sub - par for a five star hotel.
Overall we really enjoyed the week, weather was perfect and the water is as turquoise and beautiful as the photos.
Beautiful quaint place! A must visit for travellers looking to unwind and get away from hustle and bustle of daily life.
A big shout out to the staff, who were very welcoming, thoughtful and helpful throughout the stay. Thank you for a memorable experience 🙏
