There's no need to spend hours travelling to reach Ido-mura, located 50 kilometres southeast of the well-known city of Okayama.

Is there anything nicer than enjoying a cool breeze by the water's edge? Visit Zenigata Sunae or Kashima Beach for a magnificent day out.

Get a big breath of fresh air and admire the natural beauty of Tsusen-en Garden National Park. It lies 40 kilometres away from Ido-mura. You'll also discover some quiet time at Washuzan Hill, 35 kilometres away.

If you can't imagine a holiday without some sports action, check what events are scheduled at Tamano Bicycle Racetrack. It's likely something will be on during your stay. You can locate the venue 30 kilometres away in Tamano.

Seeking lots more things to see and do? Go to Miki-cho, 3 kilometres west of Ido-mura, for Shikokumura Village and Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum. Alternatively, Sanuki is 5 kilometres to the east, and it's here you'll find the Shidoji Temple and Japan Dolphin Center.

You may feel the urge to stay in Shozu for a little while. This destination is 25 kilometres to the northeast and not far from Olive Garden 1st Origin, the Marukin Soy Sauce Memorial and the Kankakei Ropeway. A few other nearby sights are Kankakei Summit Observation and Shodoshima Olive Park.

Your eyes shouldn't have all the fun while visiting Kagawa. Give your taste buds a little loving too by trying the local food and drink. After all, you can't say you've truly experienced a destination until you've tasted its flavours.

Beef and noodles are some typical ingredients in many dishes here. If you don't have a liking for them already, you may by the end of your visit!

Are you looking for a distinctive Ido-mura dining experience? There are some specialties to keep an eye out for, such as tempura (deep fried seafood or vegetables) and sawachi ryori (sushi and raw fish).

You may be eating yourself into elastic-waisted trousers, but anpan (sweet roll) is worth every last calorie. This popular dessert will make your taste buds tingle at the mere sight of it.

For those who love a satisfying pint, find the nearest bar and say Asahi Premium Beer Jukusen. It's best enjoyed with a side of storytelling and socialising with the locals.

Junmaishu is most definitely worth a try. Mixed or straight up? Your bartender will have a couple of taste bud-pleasing suggestions.

There's more to travelling than just posing for photos and trying out local cuisine. It's also about the connections you make with the people and their culture. Make the most of your Kagawa getaway by memorising a couple of local words and phrases. Try to say 'Hisashiburi'. It means 'long time no see'. Maybe you'll find 'Dōmo arigatō' a little bit easier to say? This means 'thank you'.

Don't forget to put the 23rd of December in your schedule. In Ido-mura this means one thing — Birthday of Emperor Akihito. A prominent day of celebrations, this is an excellent time of year to be in the country.

When it's time to depart, spend the last of your holiday allowance and say one final "Sayōnara" to Ido-mura.

If you're flying in and out, you'll probably be using Kansai International Airport (KIX). It's 100 kilometres to the east. Pack up your suitcase, map out a route and set that alarm!

Great but some improvement needed
"The room was comfortable but a little small so I had to squeeze a little bit when opening my suitcase. This hotel was generally a good option but I found some mold emerged in the air conditioner. I think the hotel should clean it properly to secure healthy stays for their customers."
