The city view option isn’t worth paying for because there really is no view. Got in an hour after check-in commenced and was told I should wait an hour because my room wasn’t ready. Very disappointed in my check-in and not impressed with the hotel at all.

The hotel was nice but the bartender was very rude. The hours at the bar showed open until 10pm, however, we walked up to the bar at 9:50pm to grab one cold drink to take back to our room after walking back to hotel from attending an Astros game and were told last call was at 9:45pm. There were still many people sitting at the bar and our room was on the 16th floor next to the bar. The bartender didn’t greet us at all and just waved his hand at his throat like the cut off sign when we walked up. I said I thought y'all were open until 10pm and he said last call is 9:45pm. Wasn’t friendly, did not offer an exception as we weren’t trying to sit at the bar even though there were still many people there with full drinks. We left the hotel and walked to another bar to get ONE drink since we could not get one at the hotel bar even though it was not 10pm.

I would absolutely return to the Hyatt Place Downtown Houston due to the convenience of getting to the ballpark, complimentary breakfast, friendly staff and great penthouse hotel bar. Anyone considering, look no further.

Loved the coffee bar. Did not like the parking. It was a busy night for the hotel and the hotel next to it so it took about 5 times around the block to finally get a valet spot. But the Velet team was amazing.

We were very disappointed at the fact that despite being guest at their hotel, we were told we still had to pay for parking, whether it be valet parking or in a near by garage. Overall our stay was nice, pillows were not comfortable by any means, they went flat like a tortilla.
