If boring work convos are doing your head in, it might be time to dig out your passport and head off the beaten track for a while. Book your ticket to Hilbert and you'll be in an ideal spot to get out and discover the envy-inducing forests and lakes of Wisconsin!

It sits 1,100 kilometres to the northwest of the country's capital, Washington.

A holiday in Hilbert isn't complete until you've gone on a short trip to Appleton, 25 kilometres to the northwest. From here, it'll be easy to get out and see the Gardens of the Fox Cities and Hearthstone Historic House Museum, the region's most iconic sights.

Menasha sits just 25 kilometres to the west. A trip out here is easily justified by the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center alone.

You don't have to venture too far afield to see some impressive natural sights. Hop in the car and follow the road signs to Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve, 35 kilometres away from Hilbert, for a laid-back day. Or maybe Thousand Island State Conservancy Area is more to your taste? You'll find it 20 kilometres away.

Wild about indoor football? Then dress in green, silver, black and white and watch the Green Bay Blizzard compete at Resch Center. Located 45 kilometres away in Green Bay, the arena is also the home of the Green Bay Phoenix and Green Bay Gamblers and frequently hosts concerts.

Once you've grabbed a trail map and pass at Fox Hill Ski Area, you won't want to waste time getting to the summit! You may also like to ride the chairlift and experience the runs at Heiliger Huegel Ski Club.

Do you want to venture outwards a little? Brillion is 10 kilometres to the northeast of Hilbert and New Holstein is 18 kilometres to the south. Jump in the car and discover what's going on out there!

Oshkosh, 35 kilometres to the west, is a great day trip. Use it as a base when visiting Grand Opera House, the Oshkosh Public Museum and the Menominee Park. If you need more persuading, other close by sights include the Paine Art Center and Arboretum and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

When it's time to pack up your suitcase and fasten your seatbelt, the nearest terminal, Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB), is 45 kilometres to the north.
