Hotel Bernerhof

Hotel building was older, let's call it quaint but very clean and well maintained. Perfect location, literally 2 minutes walk from the train station and near restaurants and shopping. 10 minutes from Grindelwald -First Gondola. Staff was wonderful, helpful and accommodating. Luggage storage in a locked room. Breakfast included eggs, meats, breads, fruit, yogurt. All in a clean, very nice room.

lovely hotel

Better than I even imagined

This hotel was very conveniently located, the staff members were all friendly and helpful and the room was fantastic. The part of our stay that I really loved and hadn't expected was the use of the breakfast room as a picnic area. The hotel provided a microwave, plates and silverware, water and cups and we were able to eat meals in this room very comfortably and enjoy an incredible view.

This property was super cute! It did not have AC, but the staff offered suggestions for how to make things cooler- it worked for the most part. We enjoyed the view and the balcony. Really liked its proximity to the train station and the town. It was easy to get around. The staff was very friendly and personal. This breakfast buffet was our least favorite though- although, it was fine. The room was a bit tight for two.

Grinderwald First

Grinderwald is such an amazing place. You haven’t visited Switzerland until you’ve been to the Berner Oberland region! Location of hotel is adjacent to train station and the primary local bus stop is across the street. Hotel is a little older than others but it’s very clean, updates are being done and its views of the Eiger are outstanding!!! Staff service and continental breakfast was great. We really enjoyed our nights here. The only down side was the size of the room. 2 adults with 2 large suitcases would be crunch time! We had 2 carry-ons and could feel tight. But like mentioned, the balcony views are incredible!!!!

Great location

This hire in grindelwald is a perfect location! It is located right near the train station and the start of the main town road. The room itself is a bit small but if your staying longer than a day there is plenty of space to take out clothes and everything and not fee extremely tight.

Great views

Perfect location. Close to train station and buses. Nice little breakfast, great coffee. Very accommodating to what we needed ( corkscrew & wine glasses). Great balcony looking straight into Bernese Alps. Small bathroom but good shower. Price was more than fair compared to others

Property only 2 mins walk from station. Strongly suggest get a balcony view as view is amazing. Clean hotel and Switzerland in general. Lots activities in easy distance. Transport system brilliant. Would totally recommend both hotel and resort. Staff very accommodating at helping us add on and extra day to our stay. Thank you

The hotel condition was great. The room was clean. However, the room was too small we can’t open our luggage inside the room. We could only take out things we needed and put them in the balcony. There was air conditioning so in the afternoon it was hot and stuffy. The room was provided with a fan but we still think it was kind of hot given that it was middle of June and it was 30C. Book larger room if you want a better staying experience.
