This property although charming and clean was a disappointment. The bar in this hotel is right under the windows. When the patrons came out they stood around and chatted, yelled and screamed instead of walking home. After 2 nights of little sleep we asked to be moved or for a refund for the next two nights. The owner simply said,” we advertise as a bother with a bar, so no we can’t help you. The desk staff was trying to be helpful but to no avail. The bathrooms in each room were not satisfactory. Some rooms showed the full tub or shower but our room had a closet bathroom with the sink in the room. The shower was like standing in a tall box. The cleaning staff did an excellent job.

Jimmy Craven has run this place into the ground

The owner, Jimmy Craven, feels that its ok to sell rooms to unsuspecting customers only to find out that they have an EDM club in the monte vista lounge under them that plays loud music till 2am in the morning. They have taken a nice, historic hotel and turned it into a college student club that inly cares about alcohol sales. Do not stay here if you plan on getting to bed before 2am. I asked for someone to call and talk about the situation and they blew me off and dont care

The restrooms are all dirty and were not flushed. The whole building stinks. There’s a loud music all night from the club below. Worst ever hotel I have been to. I didn’t stay there for more than 5 minutes, got out of it and moved to other hotel.

Old and not really cared for..

Old hotle , seen better days, attenbtion seems to be towards coctail bar and back bar than rooms. Featureless rooms, no coffee making facilities NO USB powerpoints, ( but we found one on the back of the telly and on desk lamp in the lounge downstairs.. ..no food / breakfast - staff totally uninterested - main insterest seemed to be to get a comfortable lounging position in the chair... simply no idea how to run a reception. poor houskeeping, bedside drawer had underwear and "lubricant" from previous guest, maybe up to a few weeks old as evidence of Valentines day in drawer, zero wifi in rooms.. generally not the friendliest of staff, even after 4 nights staying there and visiting cocktail bar each night and generous tips we were greeted on each order as if it was our first..just seemed overall staff not engaged......... The stay here was great, convenient and fun. The Rendezvous bar has great cocktails and service. We were able to walk everywhere. If you get the hotel parking it is good all day after you check out. It was a bit loud outside our room overnight but that was advised when we booked.

Best trip ever

Was super fun. My boyfriend and I came stayed here for two nights for our anniversary. We had so much fun right down town waking up and going shopping and eating. We also had a bit of a ghost experience in the hotel!! It was awesome. The hotel has a very exciting vibe at night at least on the weekends. If you are a light sleeper floor two might be noisy to keep in mind, we are light sleepovers and don't mind a bit of noise while we sleep so no issue for us. Everyone we meet was very nice and helpful. 10/10 would come back!

21st Birthday Power Hour

My daughter goes to NAU and is set to graduate in May, but she just turned 21 so we spent her power hour at Rendezvous bar and then went back to our rooms at the Monte Vista. We love the downtown area of Flagstaff, Heritage Square and the shops downtown.

SUPER NOISY. Extremely loud music playing in their bar from before we checked in until 2am. We couldn’t sleep at all. When I complained to the manager at check-out, I was simply told Flagstaff is a college town, as if I was wrong for expecting a decent night’s sleep at a hotel. The place is also really old, and not in a charming way. Bedding old & rough to the touch & I was afraid to walk on the carpet w/ bare feet. All this for over $200/nite? I would never book a room here again.
