It's 270 kilometres to the northwest of Washington, the nation's capital.

You won't have to travel too far to discover some superb natural sights. Jump in the car and follow your GPS to Prince Gallitzin State Park, 35 kilometres away from Grampian, for a chilled-out day. Or maybe Black Moshannon State Park tickles your fancy? You'll find it 50 kilometres away.

There's nothing like a day spent zipping down the powdery, fresh snow at Tussey Mountain. Pick up a trail map once you arrive and see how much of the terrain you can check off!

Be sure to go to other nearby sights, such as the Lock Haven University Clearfield and Clearfield County Courthouse. You'll come across them 17 kilometres east in Clearfield. Not ready to give back the rental car just yet? The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center and Barclay Square are in Punxsutawney, 30 kilometres to the west of Grampian.

Both travellers and locals often head over to Bellefonte. This destination is 75 kilometres away and not far from Curtin Village at Eagle Ironworks, Talleyrand Park and the Bellefonte Historical Railroad Society.
