The Vacancéole - Les Jardins de Balnéa and Résidence Nemea Royal Peyragudes are a few of several pads that are not far from all the action.

Unfortunately, there are just a limited number of no-frills accommodations for budget-conscious travellers. Of these, Résidence Nemea Le Hameau de Balestas is up there with the best.

You may also like to stay at the Aneto, which you'll find 20 kilometres away. Or perhaps the Aparthotel Hg Cerler, just a distance of 20 kilometres from Germ. If those options don't suit, you might prefer the Résidence Tourmalet or the Résidence Les Balcons de la Neste.

Clean, simple and wonderfully friendly

The hotel is classed as 2 star and I guess that's about right, but I stayed in a 4 star the day after my stay at Hotel Blu Aran and immediately wished I could go back. It's honest, clean and the staff are wonderfully friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the kitchen could not provide dinner but the receptionist was wonderful and offered a suggestion in town which was one of the best meals I've ever had. The view from the room was idyllic and I have already planned my return next year
