The 24 hour getaway at The Abbey was just what my husband and I needed. Great bars and restaurants, friendly staff. We also got a massage at Avani and we both loved it. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to stay in Lake Geneva. We will definitely go back in the summer with our kids!

The first problem was planning dinner for Christmas Eve and Christmas I called 6 different places myself and everything was closed. I decided to call Abbey at the front desk and figured they would give me a better idea of what was open. Called waterfront and someone said they would call me back. Never did. I was told 240 west was the only thing opened. Made reservations because that was my only option. Checking in was not welcoming. The gentleman that helped us was not inviting. Couldn’t answer if law enforcement discount was offered. Asked for AAA as well and he said “just ask when you check out” Not helpful While eating at 240west We find out that waterfront is open I was a bit disappointed because we would’ve made different plans. It really wasn’t the end of the world, but the lack of information given was a little disappointing. Beside walking through the hallways to piles of dirty towels and no screen on doors to enjoy the open sliding door. Overall, there was a lot of great talk about this place but it wasn’t what I expected.

The hotel seems to be very outdated. They're not taking care of it. The carpet was dirty throughout the hotel. Fixtures in the rooms were worn. There is either no heat in the hallway. Or the heat is insufficient in the hallway. Because the hallways are freezing! You freeze every time you leave your room walking anywhere in the hotel. Especially to the pool. They did not answer the phone the entire time we stayed here. Every time I called the phone would ring 30 times plus and I would hang up. No one would answer. I literally had to leave my room and walk through the cold hallway to the front desk for anything I needed. They charge you a daily resort fee but yet they have none of the amenities of a resort. There were a few activities for the kids. But nothing for the adults. There were no daily activities for the adults. There was no nightly entertainment. There were no manager cocktail parties. There was no free breakfast. There's no pool service. They couldn't even get the s'mores at the bonfire right. The first night they had no hot apple cider and ran out of s'mores. The second night they ran out of s'mores again. The ice skating rink was wasn't opened. They said they had bicycle rentals. It was 40° out we wanted to go for a ride and they weren't renting bikes. I give this hotel 2 stars.

We had a great time overall, but the restaurant wasn't running at full capacity, the movies shown weren't holiday related at any point and when we did eat breakfast at the restaurant it was ok at best. The beds are comfy but the signage could be better to help you navigate the humongous resort

The Christmas decorations are amazing. The piano player was outstanding and the food was absolutely unbelievable. I got the seared salmon and it was fantastic. We love using the pool and the workout area as well and the ice-skating rink when it’s open.

The staff were very nice and helpful to direct us to our wedding reception we were attending. The amenities were great, the bars and restaurants were cute and good options. Unfortunately our carper in our room had a huge weird brown stain, and walking around the hotel was freezing! We would gladly stay again if needed to though.
