Location, location, location! The hotel is at a corner of the Piazza Signoria--walk out the door and look to the right, and the Palazzo Vecchio is right in front of you, 100 yards away. Our room was really a small apartment--bedroom, bath, sitting room, and a small kitchen (which we did not use). There was only one small problem with the room. The hotel is served by a rather antiquated elevator, and sometimes the door would be left open so that the elevator wouldn't respond to a call. But that was only a minor drawback.
There are lots of restaurants in the Piazza Signoria. We had breakfast each day at Rudi's Cafe, right next door to the hotel. And just across the street is Rivoire,a restaurant and chocolate shop that served delicious food and delicious desserts.
